Nasi Goreng (Indonesia)

Ingredients:
- 2 cups of cooked rice
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 scallion, chopped
- 1-2 red chilies, chopped (adjust based on taste)
- 100g shrimp or chicken, cut into small pieces
- 2-3 tablespoons of sweet soy sauce (Kecap Manis)
- 1 egg
- A small amount of chopped green onion for garnish
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking oil
Steps:
- Preparation (Approx. 5 minutes)
- Mince the garlic, chop the scallion and red chilies. Cut the chicken or shrimp into small pieces. Set aside the cooked rice.
- Fry the Egg (Approx. 3-5 minutes)
- Heat a small amount of oil in a frying pan, fry the egg sunny side up until both sides are golden brown, then set aside.
- Sauté (Approx. 5 minutes)
- In the same pan, heat some oil, add the minced garlic, chopped scallions, and red chilies, and sauté until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp or chicken and cook until fully done.
- Stir-Fry the Rice (Approx. 5 minutes)
- Add the cooked rice to the pan and stir well to combine with the sautéed ingredients.
- Pour in the sweet soy sauce, continue to stir-fry until the rice is evenly coated and flavorful.
- Season with salt and pepper according to taste.
- Serve (Approx. 2-3 minutes)
- Plate the fried rice, place the fried egg on top, and garnish with chopped green onions.
